Art Intensive
Summer Camp
PERSPECTIVES & DIMENSIONS: CHALLENGING The BOUNDARIES of ART
For Grade 6 +
Jun 29 ~ Aug 14 (7 Weeks)
8:50AM to 2:50PM
At Art Muse Art Studio, we don’t just teach children how to draw; we empower young artists to see the world through a lens of innovation, depth, and structural wonder. Our 2026 Summer Intensive is a 7-week rigorous journey designed for students who are ready to move beyond the surface of the canvas. From the mathematical precision of "Reverspective" to the soulful tactile experience of sculpture, this summer is about breaking the 2D plane and challenging the boundaries of creativity.
Furthermore, this program offers a strategic opportunity for Art High School applicants to rapidly build a high-caliber portfolio, utilizing our morning technical drills for core requirements and afternoon master projects for standout optional works.
"Beyond the Surface: From Foundation to Future Portfolio"

The Artist's Daily Journey
Our program is meticulously structured to mirror the life of a professional artist: rigorous technical training in the morning followed by visionary creation in the afternoon.

[01] MORNING: THE DAILY FOUNDATION
Building the "Muscle Memory" of a Master.
Before we create, we must master the tools. Every morning is dedicated to intensive technical drills:
-
Academic Drawing: Mastery of line, value, and spatial perspective.
-
Gesture & Croquis: Capturing the essence of form and movement through speed-sketching.
-
Watercolor Fundamentals: Exploring transparency, water control, and sophisticated color mixing.
-
Analytical Observation: Learning to deconstruct the world into artistic elements.
[02] AFTERNOON: THE WEEKLY INTENSIVE PROJECT
Where Technique Meets Imagination.
The afternoon is when the magic happens. Over 8 focused hours (Mon-Thu), students apply their skills to one major high-level project each week.
Weekly Intensive Projects

-
Week 2 | The Reverspective Illusion: 3D optical illusion paintings inspired by Patrick Hughes.
Inspired by British surrealist Patrick Hughes, students will build 3D "moving" paintings. By painting distant landscapes on the protruding parts of a structured canvas, we utilize Reverse Perspective to create a mind-bending optical illusion that shifts as the viewer moves.

-
Week 1 | Wildlife in Texture: Expressive animal portraits using Conte and Pastel.
We begin by mastering the fundamentals of light, shadow, and organic texture. Students will create expressive animal portraits using Conte crayons and soft pastels, focusing on the tactile quality of fur and the soulful depth of a subject’s gaze.

-
Week 3 | Gourmet Dimensions: Sculpting 3D "Loaf Bread" with sponges and acrylics.
Art meets sensory exploration. Using sponges to sculpt realistic "loaves" of bread that physically pop out of the canvas, students use acrylics to render a cozy still life. This project focuses on hyper-realistic textures and the bridge between 2D painting and 3D relief

-
Week 4 | The Delacroix Masterclass: Recreating the dynamic energy of Romanticism.
A deep dive into classical mastery. Students will study the dynamic, emotional style of Eugène Delacroix. By replicating his vigorous brushstrokes and dramatic color palettes, young artists learn how to convey movement and raw energy through oil and acrylic techniques.

-
Week 5 | The Surrealist Apple: Fine-art oil painting on a unique round canvas.
On a unique circular canvas, we explore the medium of oil painting. Students will take a simple subject—the apple—and transform it into a surrealist masterpiece. This week focuses on the "all-prima" technique, blending gradients to achieve a dream-like, luminous finish.

-
Week 6 | Monochrome Contrast: A sophisticated 2D/3D hybrid study in black and white.
will paint a stark white-on-black background for the 2D environment, paired with a black-on-white 3D sculpted foreground. This play of inverted values creates a stunning, modern silhouette effect.

-
Week 7 | Soul in Clay: Advanced portrait sculpture and facial anatomy.
Our intensive culminates in the most challenging form of art: the human bust. Moving entirely into the 3D realm, students will learn facial anatomy and clay modeling techniques to sculpt a portrait that captures not just likeness, but character and spirit.
